Product Introduction


The Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) Meter is a device used to measure the radiation energy within a specific band (wavelengths of 400nm~700nm) of the solar radiation spectrum that can be absorbed and converted by plant pigments for organic matter synthesis. The instrument is designed in strict accordance with the GB/T 35139-2017 national standard. It consists of sensing components, optical filters, a cosine corrector, a signal output terminal, and structural components.

The PAR Meter adopts an aluminum alloy housing, featuring a robust structure, excellent sealing, long service life, high measurement accuracy, good stability, long transmission distance, and strong resistance to external interference. It is widely applicable in environments such as agriculture, aquaculture, greenhouses, laboratories, and any scenario requiring photosynthetically active radiation measurement.

Photosynthetically Active Radiation Basics


The five photosynthetic reactions of plants—photosynthesis, pigment synthesis, photoperiod phenomena, phototropism, and photomorphogenesis—all occur within the wavelength range of 400–700nm. Therefore, the radiation within the 400–700nm range is commonly referred to as Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR). PAR is represented by the symbol Qp, with units of W/m² or μmol·m⁻²·s⁻¹. It is the energy source for plant life activities, organic matter synthesis, and yield formation.
